Wax is an alternative material for creating mosaics. Beautiful candles can be created using simple patterns made of cut up wax tiles, or you can glue them to harder bases (remember not to leave them anywhere near a fire, central heating or out in the sun!)

Wax sheets can come in a variety of colors, as well as black and white. They are cheap and very easy to use as the wax is a very malleable material.

Scented Wax

Perfume can be added to the wax to create an aromatic effect on the candle. Melt the wax in a bain-marie and then add the perfume or essential oil.

Make sure you add a carrier oil or vodka if your wax does not mix well. Line a baking tray with baking paper and pore the wax onto the backing paper. Make sure it is evenly spread out. Cool, then use.
